Here at Four Winds Vineyard, we think our wines are great but it is nice to have them recognised by others.
This year we have been recognised as both a 5 Star Winery by Halliday’s Wine Companion & a Top Winery by The Real Review.
See below for the reviews and awards for our current range.
Our range of wines can be purchased here.
BRONZE 87 Points
“Fresh and lifted aromas of bath salts, lemon, lime leaf and stone fruit. Fresh and tangy on the palate, full of crunchy citrus flavours and creamy on the finish.”
– The Real Review
SILVER 90 Points
“It’s like a lemon sorbet and lime daiquiri with bubbles. A heady fragrance of spring flowers, this is a refreshing offering with traces of lemon zest, clotted cream with super racy acidity.”
– Halliday Wine Companion
BRONZE 86 Points
“Salmon pink in colour and offers up a really creamy and persistent mousse on pouring. Aromas of cherry, strawberry and bath salts. Crisp and crunchy on the palate, there’s plenty of green apple and citrus flavours along with a saline, talcy edge on the finish.”
– The Real Review
SILVER 90 Points
“Ultra pale lemon colour. Lemon curd and sweet pastry aromas. Lemon zest, pea shoots, and salty notes run across the tongue. Zippy acidity keeps it very fresh and lively, with good flow and decent length.”
– The Real Review
BRONZE
– 2023 NSW Wine Awards
BRONZE
– 2023 Australian Small Winemakers Show
SILVER 90 Points
“Pale straw yellow. Passionfruit, sage, and honeysuckle aromas. Palate is tighter and fresher than nose would suggest, melon and grapefruit, with a subtle layer of grilled nuts and smoke cured pork. Good length and ample refreshing acidity.”
-The Real Review
BRONZE 88 Points
“Lifted aromas of strawberry, citrus, white flowers and nettle. Textured, mouth-filling, long, layered and with plenty of crunch and snap.”
– The Real Review
SILVER 90 Points
“Aromas of cherry, strawberry, spice, pepper and cedar. Mid-weight, red fruit laden, creamy and easy drinking. The tannins are shapely and the acidity has crunch and purpose.”
– The Real Review
SILVER 91 Points
“The fruit, from Hilltops and Gundagai, has morphed into a wine that appears light on its feet yet comes full of flavour. Sweet cherries, tangy and tart ones, too, a hint of kirsch alongside woodsy spices, even Turkish delight. Lighter framed, the tannins barely there as the acidity leads. This isn’t complex but it is delightfully refreshing.”
– Halliday Wine Companion
SILVER 92 Points
“Aromas of raspberry, blueberry, dried herbs and rose petal. Fresh, bright and crunchy on the palate. Lashings of red and blue fruits along with nutty oak and sweet spice. The tannins are firm and drying and deliver shape and savouriness and the acidity has purpose and cut”
– The Real Review
SILVER 94 Points
“Fruit comes from the Kyeema Estate vineyard and a site in Hilltops. I dig this tempranillo. It’s savoury, bright and tangy, loaded with restrained varietal characters of red cherries and plums, cherry cola and red licorice all filling out the palate. There’s crunchy acidity and poised tannins shooting through to the finish. Tight and linear, it needs food to shine more.”
– Halliday Wine Companion
SILVER
– 2023 Cowra Wine Show
SILVER
– 2023 Australian Cool Climate Wine Show
BRONZE 89 Points
“Very bright, medium-deep purple-red colour; the nose is quiet but fresh, with red fruits rather than dark, and a subtle whiff of pepper; the palate lean and tangy with crisp acidity that gives it a sinewy leanness. A cool-climate style of shiraz, medium bodied at most.”
– The Real Review
SILVER 92 Points
“Deep and crystalline ruby-red colour in the glass. Crushed forest berries, white pepper and hot-stone aromatics. Medium-weight with dark berry fruit, cinnamon and pepper spices flowing and gliding through the palate. A fine note of acidity brings vibrancy with enough supple tannins to guide it quite long and dry to the finish.”
– The Real Review
BRONZE
“Medium ruby red, notes of blueberry, bouquet garni and wood shavings on the nose. Ripe and round plum and blueberry fruits on the tongue with hints of pencil shavings through the edges. It glides quite long with a generous spirit, if loosely knit into the finish.”
– The Real Review
SILVER 90 Points
“A deep ruby red colour. Blackcurrant, mint and dry earth aromatics. Medium bodied with bright red and black fruits layered over bay leaf and tobacco characters. Carries good length and a hint of acidity adds to the fine tannins driving it.”
– The Real Review
SILVER 93 Points
“Lifted aromas of blueberry, dried herbs, graphite, pot-pourri, dark cherry, spice and ferrous earth. The palate is focused, mid-weight, fleshy and blue fruit driven. The tannins are textured, savoury and drying and there’s a nice line of shapely acidity keeping things fresh and snappy.”
– The Real Review
SILVER 90 Points
“Medium-full ruby colour with the faintest tint of purple remaining; attractive spirit on the nose, peppery and floral together with licorice/blackberry, and a new-leather overtone. The wine is sweet and deeply fruited on palate with a touch of bitterness. This would still benefit from more time.”
